Beverly Neighborhood Choir

The Beverly Neighborhood Choir, located at the Beverly Arts Center at 2153 West 111th Street, is currently serving 120 children from the Morgan Park, Beverly, Roseland, Pullman, and southeast Chicago neighborhoods as well as children from Evergreen Park, Oak Lawn, Blue Island, and Mt. Greenwood. Neighborhood Choir members start as early as 8 years old and many continue through the age of 16.
The Beverly Choir has performed in and around Chicagoland for the past five years for such people and organizations as British Airways annual world sales conference, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat at the Royal George Theatre, the Joffrey Ballet of Chicago's presentation of The Nutcracker at the Auditorium Theatre, "Welcome Yule" with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Yolanda King, Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Dr. Mae Jamieson, the first annual Steve Conley Celebrity Basketball Game at Luther High School South and St. Xavier University's "Children In The World" conference.
The Choir has also appeared on the newscasts of WBBM-TV, WMAQ-TV, WLS-TV, WGN-TV and Fox-TV. In addition to local performances they have toured to Pennsylvania, Virginia, North Carolina, Michigan and Tennessee performing with The Maranatha Singers, The Carolina Children's Chorus, the Ann Arbor Youth Chorale, and the CAS Youth Choir, respectively. In May 1999, forty-two members of the Choir toured Atlanta, GA.
