Humboldt Park Neighborhood Choir

Rehearsals: Tuesday & Thursday, 4:00-6:00 pm
The Humboldt Park Neighborhood Choir is one of six After-School Programs
for the CCC. Located at Casa Central 1343 North California Avenue, the Choir
is for boys and girls ages 8-16 living in the Humboldt Park, Logan Square,
West Town, Avondale, Austin, East & West Garfield Park Communities and/or
other near by communities. The program fee is based on a sliding scale.
Mr. Wallenberg has been with the Choir since 1993 and has worked with
every level of the CCC, including the In-School and the Concert Choir.
In addition to the Humboldt Park location, he is also the conductor of
the Rogers Park Neighborhood Choir.
A native of Bogotá Colombia, Mr. Wallenberg earned his bachelor's and
master's degrees in choral conducting from the Rubin Academy of Music
in Jerusalem and Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. In Israel Mr.
Wallenberg founded several adult and children's choir's, and sang with
the "Cameran singers," a professional choir in Tel Aviv. He has extensive
experience conducting collegiate, community, professional, and children's
choral groups throughout the world. Mr. Wallenberg brings a wealth of
experience and a great deal of energy and excitement to the program at
Casa Central.
Over the past several years, the Choir has sung at the Gather Ye Round
Concert in Evanston, Wicker Park Chamber of Commerce Holiday Caroling,
Winter Delights Holiday Bazaar at the Chicago Cultural Center, and a performance
at St. Sylvester Church with North American Choral Company in Michigan.
Mr. Wallenberg and the forty singers enrolled in the program are looking
forward to many years of performing in their community, around the city
of Chicago and around the country.
