NEIGHBORHOOD CHOIRS
The Choir’s after-school Neighborhood Choir Programs are located in Chicago’s Albany Park, Beverly, Garfield Park, Humboldt Park, Hyde Park, Lincoln Park/DePaul, Pilsen/Little Village and Rogers Park communities. This program provides beginning and intermediate choral training to 500 diverse children while building community pride and stewardship in each singer.

For singers in 3rd grade and up into high school, Neighborhood Choirs rehearse twice a week throughout the school year. Each choir is divided into two levels, Allegro and Vivace, performs several times during the year and sometimes takes a short tour in the spring.

At the Neighborhood Choir level, boys and girls learn proper vocal technique, music reading and sight singing skills, as well as the discipline of singing with musicality, movement, and expression. Singers are offered numerous performance opportunities to exhibit the diverse repertoire reflecting the multicultural mission of Chicago Children’s Choir.

DiMension is a unique ensemble for young men with changing voices, or voices who have just changed including those in late elementary, middle school, and into high school.
